Preparation: The raw material consists of clean, mold-free, dried Reishi mushroom fruiting bodies. Equipment includes a pulverizer, jacketed reaction tank, vacuum film concentrator, and spray dryer.

Preparation of Reishi Mushroom Concentrate: Wash the Reishi mushroom fruiting bodies, pulverize them, and then place them into a jacketed reaction tank with an appropriate amount of water for decoction. Maintain a temperature of 100°C for 2 hours, then press out the liquid. Repeat this extraction process three times, combining the extracts. Filter the combined extracts to obtain the filtrate. The filtrate is then transferred to a vacuum film concentrator, where it is concentrated to over 10°Baumé for later use.

Production of Refined Reishi Mushroom Powder: This step employs the spray drying method. The Reishi mushroom concentrate is uniformly mixed with a certain proportion of filler material and then fed into a spray dryer to be dried into powder. The inlet air temperature of the spray dryer is controlled between 95-100%, and the nozzle pressure is maintained at 3.5-4 standard atmospheres. The outlet air temperature is 95°C, with a temperature error not exceeding ±2°C.

Packaging of Refined Reishi Mushroom Powder: The refined Reishi mushroom powder is sealed and packaged in colored food-grade plastic bags or special glass bottles to prevent moisture absorption and mold growth.

Pulverization Considerations: During the pulverization process, the Reishi mushroom particle size must be uniform and appropriate. Particles that are too large will hinder the dissolution of solids, while particles that are too small will impede filtration, both affecting the extraction yield.

Spray Drying Concentration: During spray drying, the effective solid content of the Reishi mushroom concentrate directly influences the quality of the refined Reishi mushroom powder. Practical experience shows that an extract solid content between 11-13°Baumé is the optimal concentration for spray drying, resulting in superior quality and color of the refined Reishi mushroom powder.

Spray Drying Operational Adjustments: In the spray drying process, the flow rate of the concentrate into the spray nozzle per unit of time is inversely proportional to the temperature inside the tank. Therefore, if the liquid flow rate is too low, the temperature will rise, easily leading to scorched powder. If the liquid flow rate is too high, the temperature will drop, leading to wall adhesion and difficulty in forming powder. Thus, it is crucial during operation to pay special attention to the liquid volume and temperature changes, adjusting them as needed.
